Waking up in my bed-for what most likely will be the last time in a long while-I head out of the house and take my first real steps onto Route 1, Pokémon safely on my belt. I stop there for a moment, thinking about the things I will do in the future before moving on.
After Squirtle hit level 9, I decided to do some actual catching. After finding a Rattata I didn’t KO in two hits, I lob a ball and catch my first pogey. I then decided that my next goal would be to catch a Pidgey. However, at the time my team needed healing, so I headed to the nearby Center.
After that, I thought for a short while. Acting on my thoughts, I head over to Route 23, and BAM. Mankey. After catching it, I decide to stick around to see what else might lurk there. However, after several uneventful minutes, I heal back up and head out to find the Pidgey I never managed to catch.
After acquiring one, I choose to go to the Viridian Forest to train it. Before I can do that, though, the old man who had previously blocked my way was now obviously over-caffeinated. He insisted on showing my how to catch Pokémon, despite having successfully caught three already. He also gave me something called a Teachy TV. Weirdo. I decided to high-tail it out of there before he offered me candy and headed for the forest. Before I could get far, though, I had to stop and rest.
So, I will rest for a while and see you again next time.
Until then, may Down and A turn your balls into Master Balls.

Day 1, New Beginnings
Well, I started my game off by checking the PC in my room and nabbing that all-important first potion. Making my way downstairs, I talked to my mother before leaving the house and venturing to where I was supposed to meet PROF. OAK.
Instead of finding him, I found my rival, whose namesake is my best friend, and always has/will be. Giving up on waiting, I make my way out of town, into the tempting grass. What I find frustrating is the fact that how are you supposed to guess you've got to go north. Oh well. Walking up there, OAK stops me from getting my ass handed to me by those vicious Level 2 rats.
Pokemon for protection, he tells me. Unsafe in the grass, he tells me. Just give me an industrial sized bottle of REPEL and send me on my way...or not.
Next comes the Pokemon choosing. Since this whole blog's premise is trying new things, I'll do something I've never done: choose the WATER-type starter and try to live with myself. I had considered Grass, but I figured that BULBASAUR didn't get enough of variety in its moveset.
Darn, a male SQUIRTLE. Oh well. As my ADHD kicks in, I start to leave the lab, when-of course-my rival wants to battle. Time for a whuppin'. After the two 'mon slugged it out, my SQUIRTLE was about a level and a half towards learning BUBBLE, at Level 7.
So, apparently either I missed something or the game fails to tell you to go to the next town and get OAK's crap. Regardless of that fact, I know where to go, and so I head out as such, kicking pogey(Pokemon) ass as I go.
Returning to PALLET TOWN, now 2 levels higher, I go to fork over this thing I have to give to the old geezer. Showing me the love, the old man hooks me up with my POKEDEX and my first five POKE BALLS. Now I have a reason and a method to obsess over these 150+ animal-things.
So now, having spent 30 minutes playing, I call time on this day's adventure, as I grow tired (not waking up too early'll do that to a person). Perhaps I'll write more later.
However, for now:

An Introduction
Greetings, whomever.
Over the years, I have seen Pokemon games come and go. I've lived through the original 150 on up.
However, as of late, I have become jaded and bored of using the same things over and over, so I decided to do something a bit...different.
Instead of just playing the games, I thought I'd share them with the world. Share some of the fun. Try some different things.
I hope it's at least interesting.
My first game will be FireRed, which I will start tomorrow.
Until then, may all your starters be female.
