Waking up in my bed-for what most likely will be the last time in a long while-I head out of the house and take my first real steps onto Route 1, Pokémon safely on my belt. I stop there for a moment, thinking about the things I will do in the future before moving on.
After Squirtle hit level 9, I decided to do some actual catching. After finding a Rattata I didn’t KO in two hits, I lob a ball and catch my first pogey. I then decided that my next goal would be to catch a Pidgey. However, at the time my team needed healing, so I headed to the nearby Center.
After that, I thought for a short while. Acting on my thoughts, I head over to Route 23, and BAM. Mankey. After catching it, I decide to stick around to see what else might lurk there. However, after several uneventful minutes, I heal back up and head out to find the Pidgey I never managed to catch.
After acquiring one, I choose to go to the Viridian Forest to train it. Before I can do that, though, the old man who had previously blocked my way was now obviously over-caffeinated. He insisted on showing my how to catch Pokémon, despite having successfully caught three already. He also gave me something called a Teachy TV. Weirdo. I decided to high-tail it out of there before he offered me candy and headed for the forest. Before I could get far, though, I had to stop and rest.
So, I will rest for a while and see you again next time.
Until then, may Down and A turn your balls into Master Balls.
